ZINC Network has a global reach with offices in Tunis, Baghdad, and London, as well as team members in Tallinn and Kiev. This means we are uniquely placed to adapt our expertise to differing cultural contexts at home, and around the world.
As a Junior Digital Researcher at ZINC Network, you are responsible for identifying, tracking, and analyzing disinformation online. Your time will be split between data collection (50%), analysis/writing (40%), and internal communication (10%).
This is an entry-level position and suitable for recent graduates or those just starting careers in social media or digital research.
You are expected to:
Perform research to identify audiences, amplifiers, and disinformation ecosystems
Monitor publicly available data within a specific region, across social platforms and the web
Track the evolution of disinformation narratives over time
Translate insights into clear and concise reports This will involve (but is not limited to):
Using tools such as TalkWalker or BrandWatch to conduct social media listening
Identifying suspicious accounts spreading disinformation on Facebook and Twitter
Creating audience maps
Analysing share of conversation on Twitter
Supporting the creation and implementation of new research methodologies
Performing sentiment analysis of online comments
Tracking stories produced by local and regional media
Identifying and understanding the impact of disinformation campaigns using digital metrics and analytics tools
You should have the following skills:
Fluent Russian Language skills
Analytics (Facebook Insights, CrowdTangle, NewsWhip, Tubular Labs)
Social media listening (Brandwatch, Talkwalker)
Influencer identification (Tubular Labs)
A thorough, analytical approach to research
It would be great if you also had:
Experience in international relations, journalism, fact-checking, or disinformation
Strong interpersonal skills
A self-starter attitude
Qualitative or quantitative research experience
Confidence working under pressure
