Starbucks Channel Development is a high paced, fast growing business unit which leads the development of the Starbucks brand outside of the Starbucks stores. The senior operations manager plays a critical role in ensuring the Channel Development EMEA strategy comes to market. Through planning, project design and internal and external stakeholder management, the senior operations manager ensures Starbucks products are effectively and efficiently manufactured and delivered to the right place, at the right time with the right quality. The senior operations manager is accountable for leading and delivering the supply chain elements for Channel Development EMEA, which will enable the team to deliver the growth ambitions.
This role contributes to Starbucks’ success leading the interface with retailers and distribution partners to bring new initiatives to market and drive ongoing business.Channel Development EMEA is rapidly expanding and is bringing new initiatives to markets which will contribute significantly to the future growth targets.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Managing ongoing relationships with strategic business partners and external stakeholders to drive the business objectives
Participating in the decision making for Route to Market models and sourcing changes.
Assess the financial and operational impact of new business initiatives. Effectively translate the business requirements of the Channel Development team into Supply Chain requirements.
Lead the Supply Chain set up and ensure the regulatory and legal aspects relating to the go to market model are adhered to
Lead projects relating to new route to market models or sourcing changes.
Prepare weekly forecasts and MTD performance & share to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders (product managers, co-manufacturers, commercial team, supply chain organisation)
Work closely with distribution partners in the region to continue to develop and improve the forecast integrity & quality, as well as service targets. Setting and monitoring key metrics.
Set and Manage the inventory strategy, driving cost efficiency and minimize write off risks
Work with internal/ external Supply Chain peers to develop aligned forecasts and supply plans
Provide analysis of demand variability and proactively highlight risks to the business stakeholders. Identify and drive forecast accuracy improvement initiatives.
Communicate potential supply risks to appropriate stakeholders/ business owners
Manage the integrity and validity of portfolio technical data
Design supply chain processes relating to new route to market models
Onboard new distribution partners
Collaborate with the Commercial team and the Supply Chain organisation to identify and drive supply chain improvements
Partner with manufacturers on projects to support the rapid growth in the region
Own the Quality process for Channel Development EMEA and drive reoccurring reviews
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder
Responsible for developing and managing the on-going relationships with (senior level) customers, distributors and support functions
Work closely with marketing/category and sales teams to enhance forecasts of each market
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Supply Chain/ Operations in multiple departments and scaled operations, establishing and implementing systems, processes and tools for a business unit/department
Ability to influence at an Executive Level both internally and externally
Ability to lead and influence peer groups both internally and externally
Being able to work in a multi-cultural, dynamic environment at all levels in cross-functional teams Effectively manage the diverse perspectives of others in order to deliver a successful outcome

Minimal Bachelor education level is required, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management
A strong understanding of business and management principles, leadership strategies and strategic planning.
Proven experience in leading S&OP process
Cross-functional experience in 3 or more of the following areas: procurement, production, DC operations, shipping and transportation, inventory control, vendor management
Proven experience in supply chain optimization & process control
Proven experience in managing operations in a FMCG/ consumer packaged industry
Proven background in planning functions including planning, sourcing, forecasting, and inventory management
Strong customer relationship and process development experience
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with demanding reporting deadlines
Hands on mentality
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization
Capability and potential to take on more senior positions within the organisation
Ability to analyse data efficiently and recommend relevant action plans and strategies
Strong skills in Excel or any other reporting tools
Fluent in English, additional (European) language is a plus
Background in FMCG companies preferred
