Russo-British Chamber of Commerce - Event Manager

Responsibilities:

  • You will have lead responsibility for a programme of 24+ corporate events per year, including sector-specific seminars, networking events, gala dinners and high-profile conferences. Involving:

  • Identifying topics, venues and speakers for events

  • Putting together and overseeing numerous concurrent projects

  • Attracting sponsorship – identifying appropriate partners, designing sponsorship packages, meeting and negotiating with senior decision-makers

  • Securing and liaising with speakers

  • Managing all aspects of events from start to finish – managing registrations and ticket sales, raising interest, creating marketing tools, handling enquiries, on-the-day event management, liaison with speakers, venues and sponsors to ensure the success of the event

You will also take the lead on RBCC Publications. Involving:

  • Collating regular content for the Bulletin ONLINE from RBCC members and affiliates

  • Liaising with the RBCC Russia offices to get articles translated and collate copy from Russia members

  • Attracting content and advertisements

You will assist the Commercial Manager with UK communications and liaison with UK Members. Involving:

  • Managing a database of 3,000 contacts; liaising with member companies; facilitating introductions between companies and answering member queries

  • Compiling e-newsletters and the publication of member news on RBCC platforms

  • Maintaining the company’s web-presence

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with media partners and news outlets

On a regular basis you will:

  • Contribute directly to RBCC strategic planning and decision-making as part of a close-knit team

  • Meet and communicate with RBCC management team, member organisations, and other public and private trade development bodies in order to identify areas for RBCC engagement and support

Requirements:

Applicants should have:

  • Entitlement to live and work in the UK

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. The post requires extensive networking in a commercial environment and successful selling of sponsorship packages as well as relationship-building with colleagues in RBCC’s London and Moscow offices

  • Very strong attention to detail

  • Strong time-management and task prioritisation skills

  • Native/near-native English (i.e. the ability to write fluently, and conduct face-to-face meetings and telephone conversations without any difficulty). Russian language ability is a major advantage

  • Experience in event organisation is advantageous

  • Demonstrable knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, Russian and Russo-British matters is considered an advantage

Basic salary:

Starting salary £23 000, plus commission (£3,500 in 2018)

RBCC London personnel are also eligible to participate in a contributory pension scheme
