RINA - Environmental Practice Lead

Would you like to lead a brand new Environmental, Health & Safety and Social Monitoring (EHSS) team? We are looking for a talented EHSS professional to lead a small team and make a significant technical contribution to our busy team based in Brighton or London. You will find yourself managing a range of Environmental projects including EHSS Audits / Due Diligences, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Studies and Environmental and Social Monitoring activities - both within Project Financing and local regulatory compliance contexts. You can expect variety and travel, visiting UK clients.

The role

Reporting to the Head of EHSS based in Italy, you will play a leading role responsible for 3 main areas:

Project Acquisition and Management

  • You'll focus on delivering and maximising a consistent level of performance achieving KPIs related to your area

  • Collaborate effectively with the Head of EHSS in Italy and fellow leaders across the business for mutual success

  • Manage the RINA project control database, including budget allocation on proposals

  • Engage with clients to negotiate service agreements supported by the Corporate Legal office

Staff Management:

  • You’ll manage a small team of 3-4 consultants across our London and Brighton offices

  • Driving development, engagement and training needs within your team

  • Effective allocation of team members to ongoing projects/proposals in line with RINA targets

Business Development:

  • Identify Lender and Investor driven opportunities in the UK or involving UK companies

  • Be proactive in the proposal phase: monitor for of open tenders, identify partners, appoint proposal teams, review technical and financial proposals

  • Represent RINA at relevant technical conferences, meetings and events

Qualifications & experience

  • Degree qualified in an environmental sciences, health and safety or related engineering subject

  • Proven experience in a environmental management or project leadership position, including profit and loss

  • Excellent knowledge of environmental, health and safety management systems, practical experience in

  • environmental, health and safety due diligence/audits of various industrial facilities/infrastructure

  • Proven ability to achieve business’ targets, working with several projects simultaneously under time pressure

  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and with external customers

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral. Knowledge in other languages (French, Spanish or Russian) is highly desired

  • Availability to travel internationally for project needs and for short term assignments
