Pushkin House is looking for a self-motivated and proactive Commercial Events Manager to cover the 9 months maternity leave of the current postholder, starting in November. The role revolves around overseeing the running and operation of all private events at Pushkin House. Pushkin House is an independent arts charity specialising in Russian culture; private hire constitutes an important part of its income.
Location: Pushkin House, London
Salary: 24 - 26K pro rata, depending on experience
Holidays: 20 per annum pro-rata
Hours: 15h a week
Closing date: 10:00am Monday 9th September 2019
The interviews will take place on 16 and 17 of September.
Start date: Monday 28th October 2019
Dealing with all private hire enquiries;
Liaising with clients about their requirements;
Updating and maintaining calendar entries;
Arranging catering and extra staff;
Liaising with staff about delivering events;
Raising pro forma invoices and emailing venue terms to clients;
Working closely with the accountant to ensure timely payment;
Maintaining private hire financial reports;
Promoting the venue and increasing the revenue;
Experience of managing events or private hire venues;
Marketing skills and experience;
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
Strong organisational and problem solving abilities;
Good attention to detail;
Strong administrative and IT skills;
Good time management skills.
The chosen candidate will be available over email and over the phone during the opening hours of Pushkin House in case of emergencies or questions from staff in regards to private hire.
