PGI’s Intelligence division provides Corporate Intelligence and Geopolitical Risk Analysis to multinational corporations and governments worldwide. We provide client-led actionable and niche intelligence to mitigate risk and enable smart decisions.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent research, analytical and writing skills to build on the capability of our dynamic Intelligence team. For this role, working knowledge of Arabic is highly preferred, as is an understanding of the politics and business environment of key markets in Europe and the Middle East.
Candidates with language abilities in key client geographies will be prioritised
You will be working within the Geopolitical Team, responsible for geopolitical monitoring and analysis. The team power our ‘Risk Portal’ online platform and produce a range of retained monitoring and bespoke intelligence products to clients operating in the energy, media, logistics and financial services sectors.
Responsible for monitoring, reviewing and updating content on the Risk Portal, you will develop a regional level of expertise alongside a sector of specialism, which will be applied to retained and bespoke geopolitical reporting.
The role is fast paced and will involve working on multiple client projects. You will be required to attend external events representing PGI and provide wider research assistance to the Intelligence team.

Bespoke client work and research
You will perform independent research and analysis for bespoke client projects. This role will require good research skills obtained from professional and academic experience. Experience in delivering corporate research strongly preferred.
Ability to write client-ready intelligence and to easily adapt to PGI’s house style is essential. Previous proofing and editorial experience is a distinct advantage. You will play a key role in the internal peer-review process which requires a keen eye for detail and experience in cross-referencing and fact-checking of information. Close collaboration within the team will require the ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback and deploy it effectively to improve your own and other’s writing.
Market research and business development
Identify market trends and events that present business opportunities for the Geopolitical team, particularly those related to sector and regional specialism.
PGI organisational support
Understanding and support for Intelligence project management and managers, focused on end-to-end delivery of client requirements, including assisting with proposals, external intelligence inputs, report production and review and client delivery and presentations where relevant.
Monitoring of client relevant sector risks, building up interest and expertise including key markets, niche risks, competitor activities, sector dynamics and trends
A good understanding of online monitoring, sector focus on terrorist groups operations and capabilities.
Experience at a competitor organisation or other related employer such as government, think tank, development organisation, consultancy or relevant corporate environment.
Proven experience regularly working to tight deadlines. Ability to respond quickly to client requests and produce high quality work with a quick turnaround.
Knowledge of wider risk consulting sector either from previous risk management experience or exposure to client-side risk management.
You will need excellent written English with high standards of grammar. Ability to convey complex ideas and environments in clearly summarised analysis and advice. Experience writing for a commercial audience strongly preferred.
Confident open-source research skills including social media. Design or info-graphic skills would be a bonus
You must be a confident communicator willing to engage in discussion with team members and clients.
