SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Director, Supply Chain will be accountable for proactively managing the supply base within the assigned categories and industries; working in close collaboration with NCR leadership on matters related to Supply Chain Strategy, Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing to proactively drive supplier selection, assessment, negotiations, contract performance, supply base consolidations, quality improvements, cost reductions, and other critical performance metrics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Provide leadership and expertise in matters of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain, by developing and implementing Sourcing and Supply Chain strategies across multiple geographies and categories including but not limited to Labor, Software, Professional Services, Fleet and MRO.

  • Lead collaborative multi-site, cross-functional commodity and supply chain teams to drive improvements with regards to spend analytics, spend management and cost reduction objectives.

  • Identify global spend opportunities, consolidate supply base were appropriate and manage supply base in accordance with Strategic Sourcing policies, procedures and practices.

  • Understand and monitor current commodity market conditions/trends, develop technologies, supply chain capacity/ capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges.

  • Guide the selection, development, and management of Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity cost and performance goals, with emphasis placed on ability to identify cost targets for relevant technology and product roadmaps.

  • Develop and implement spend management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, e-Sourcing, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, make vs. buy analyses, vendor managed inventories, inventory reduction programs, cycle time improvements, security of supply, supplier diversity, continuous improvement, EDI, and procurement/engineering collaboration.

  • Lead negotiation and completion of contracts with global strategic and preferred suppliers to maximize benefits across NCR.

  • Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and commodity team members. Influence decision in matters related to sourcing and supplier management through effective communication with senior leadership within NCR.

  • Implement a rigorous and disciplined process for managing the supply base including leading periodic business reviews, monitoring and managing supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, technology, service, and leadership), managing supplier relationships, performing root cause analysis and resolution, developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans, and collaborating with engineering to align technology roadmaps.

  • Work with New Product Introduction process to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs

  • Drive significant change in the sourcing processes via e-commerce tools, supplier scorecards, supplier consolidation, etc

  • Implement Corporate & Divisional initiatives to meet desired business goals/objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Engineering with 5 or more years of experience in the IT Services Industry

  • 10 - 15 years Industry (Banking, Commerce and Telecom & Technology) experience with progressively increasing responsibility in commodity/supply chain management, operations management.

  • 5 years of P&L responsibility, at the minimum around cost related lines.

  • 5 years’ experience with budgets and monitoring financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of outlooked costs, areas of non-performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are implemented.

  • Min 5 years of people management experience with hands on experience managing multi-site global team from diverse background and cultures.

  • Experienced in setting up and managing BPO/shared services operations based in offshore locations such as India and Eastern Europe.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification with emphasis on continuous improvement in supply chain.

  • Training and/or certification in International company directorship with knowledge of international legal environment, corporate governance and risk, legalities of ethical purchasing behaviors and the ability to work with Legal on assuring those aspects.

  • Strong forecasting, negotiations, and contract management skills; including a working understanding of contractual terms and conditions and risk mitigation

  • Ability to indirectly influence and lead cross-organizational and/or cross-functional teams, including a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally (e.g., engineering teams, finance, legal, services, etc) at all organizational levels and/or with outside professionals.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving/trouble-shooting, communications, presentation, and problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills

  • Effective time/resource management and project management skills/capabilities

  • Previous experience in deployment and utilization of SAP for E-Sourcing/E-Auction

    • Preferred Qualifications:

      • Masters/Post graduate qualification in business and management. MBA preferred.

      • Proficiency and working knowledge of Asian languages such as Hindi, Kannada and basic understanding of some European language such as Russian would be a plus.

      • Working knowledge of and experience with ERP systems
