Canon - MPDS Sales Development Specialist

Canon are proud of our current No. 1 Western European Managed Print and Document Services (MPDS) position and our key objective is to retain this MPDS position through profitable business growth across the entire document lifecycle including, Office, CRD and Off Site Production, leveraging the added value of market leading Document Management, Workflow Automation and Business Process Optimisation software solutions and services (SaaS /Cloud and On premise).

The Business Developer for MPDS plays a pivotal role in developing EMEA sales for the entire Canon’s Solutions portfolio, across MPS, Information Management and ECM applications, acting as Subject Matter Expert within the Canon Document Solutions business unit.

Key responsibilities:

Develop the expertise within Europe, Middle East and Africa related to the MPDS proposition

  • Proactive collaboration with the Marketing department to define and ensure an efficient implementation of MPDS Business Development actions at a local (country) and European level

  • Provide matrix support across all NSO’s to drive a change in sales mindset, sales behaviour and help develop confidence in their ability to articulate Canon’s MPDS value propositions. This includes supporting training programmes in collaboration with the learning and development function

  • Collaborate with each country Sales, Professional Services & Marketing teams to ensure the implementation of local action plans

Support sales

  • Provide strategic SME support to the Sales and Pre-Sales teams across EMEA

  • Support Global Services department and Central Bid team as SME on major and cross boarder MPDS deals

  • Attend pan-European MPDS business development meetings in various countries

  • Collaborate with the wider Global Sales regions to ensure strategy and sales consistency

  • Create sales tools for Canon’s MPDS proposition

  • Other Sales Development and support actions as and when required to achieve the business targets

Further increase visibility and credibility of Canon as MPDS partner

  • Develop relation with main analyst firms and industry experts to promote Canon expertise and Know-How

  • Participate to customer events as Subject Matter Expert

Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to provide content and key messaging to be included in B2B communications

Strategy

  • Identification of customer business needs and challenges, definition of customer benefits and target groups

  • Support go-to-market definition in collaboration with other key teams and stakeholders in Canon Europe

  • Make recommendation on what should be done to ensure continuous business growth of the MPDS proposition and offer

  • Proven successful B2B sales and / or business development experience

  • Beyond the box – Managed Services & Document Process Management Solutions knowledge

  • Strong commercial acumen and sales enablement skills

  • Exceptional multi-level relationship management experience

  • Ability to work closely with marketing & communication functions as subject matter expert

  • A sound understanding of Managed Print Services & Document Process Management Solutions and Services

  • Pan-European / Global mind-set

  • Experience of driving and/or supporting international sales either direct or matrix

  • English (written and spoken), other European languages an advantage

  • Willing to travel
