Within World Service, Business Development is responsible for securing, managing and developing the external media partnerships which deliver the majority of the BBC’s audience reach around the world. Business Development represent the BBC offer in multiple languages across TV, radio and digital in a diverse range of advanced and developing media markets ex UK.
As Business Development Coordinator you will support the Business Development team’s activity with external partners helping ensure that the audience can enjoy our services across a diverse range of outlets and platforms. You will provide administrative and organizational support to the business.
To update partners with programming information and schedule changes for World Service English in a timely and accurate manner.
To manage SAP processes and to raise Purchase and Sales Orders. To follow up and ensure payments are made and income is received. To maintain and update the reports relating to ongoing financial status.
To update and maintain the Customer Relations Management System (CRM) as required.
To assist with the contracting of new and existing partners for the Americas and Europe region (with particular focus on Russia), carrying out any necessary compliance procedures, as required.
To provide research support on countries’ media landscape, potential partners, commercial opportunities and competitors’ activities.
From time to time to help with specific projects and events as required by the Head of Business Development Americas and Europe
Are you the right candidate?
A very high level of Russian language skills.
Experience in communications, marketing or sales preferably gained in a media environment.
Experience in managing information and producing reports and other communications tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other people.
Willingness to develop new systems and ideas.
Administrative experience. A thorough and systematic approach to routine administration, paying attention to accuracy, details and achieving deadlines.
Ability to take the initiative in all aspects of the job.
A professional approach, including the ability to exercise discretion, respect confidentiality, organise work and time effectively, prioritise sensibly and remain calm under pressure, whilst maintaining a customer focused attitude and cultural sensitivity.
Practical knowledge and skills in using Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, SharePoint, CMS, and Adobe.
Knowledge and understanding of World Service output and editorial direction across all media.
Fluency in spoken and written English language with acute attention to detail and accuracy.
Spanish, Portuguese or other European languages would be a plus but not essential
