Job Introduction

BBC World Service Group is responsible for the BBC’s international-facing news activity. It reaches a weekly global audience of 346 million people through international television, radio and news websites, operating in English and 40 other languages.

World Service Business Development is an international team responsible for securing reach and commercial deals with global partners, supplying them with this content. Our partners range from the world’s biggest digital brands to local radio stations in developing markets.

Main Responsibilities

In close cooperation with Business Development and senior editors, the Business Development Associate (to be known as Partner Engagement Producer, Russia) will be responsible for shaping and implementing partnership engagement strategy of the Russian site.


  • To drive daily editorial liaison with partners to promote BBC content and assess or provide feedback on requirements, and ensure partner queries are answered

  • Identifying and developing new products aimed at partner platforms

  • Regular monitoring of BBC content on partners sites; to ensure compliance, optimal placement of both content and links back to the BBC

  • To track and share offsite performance indicators for partnerships

Are you the right candidate?

You will have:

  • Sound editorial judgment, and how this can be applied to partnerships

  • Excellent understanding of digital media in and outside of Russia

  • Proven interest in newsroom data analytics

  • A broad understanding of the needs of partners, the editorial material on offer, and how to adapt one to the other in ways that enhance reputation, reach and revenue of BBC News: Russian Service

  • Full professional fluency in Russian and English
