Reporting to the Russian Editor, this role sits within the Russian editorial team in ASOS’ head office in London . The Editorial Assistant works with the international site and editorial teams as well as the creative, development, social and CRM teams. You will effectively translate and create digital editorial content for all ASOS.ru media channels - from website to newsletters to social - that engages and inspires the audience whilst supporting the retail proposition and ultimately purchase of product.
What you’ll be doing…
Translate and transcreate editorial content and CTA copy for all ASOS.RU media channels
Keep category headers refreshed and updated
Provide copy writing and editorial support for ad hoc copy requests from PR, customer care and retail when required.
Translate and write from scratch e-mails for Russian customers.
Assist in creating local bespoke content when relevant at key retail and consumer calendar moments that is unique, compelling to the core twenty-something Russian audience.
Help to grow the VK, Facebook and Instagram communities in the Russian market. Work with the Russian Editor, Social team and Marketing & Communication team to continuously evolve editorial that is relevant for social channels.
Work with the Social Media Senior Manager to manage the social media calendar for RU. Liaise with other departments within ASOS to share this, as required.
Work with the Social Insights Exec on social reporting, ensuring you are rigorously tracking the performance of content across all social channels for RU.
Ensure competitor research and customer insight are at the heart of all our output.
Work with the Junior Editors, and Senior Editors (Tier 1) to ensure they are aware of any market specific details needed for any tier 1 activations.
Prepare and assist in analysing traffic reports - identifying seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily behaviour and work with the Russian Editor to evolve the editorial offer based on these insights.
Work with Russian Editor to continually develop the style guide so it is an absolute true reflection of the UK style appropriated for country.
Play an active role in monitoring the translation quality on the website and liaise with ASOS 3rd party translation suppliers.
Liaise with bloggers and look after samples requests.

Working in a small team within the wider Content department, you will be a team player with an enthusiasm to actively support the editorial vision. You will also be a creative thinker who can turn copy around quickly and brilliantly, manage multiple projects and ensure that our voice is always spot-on for the local market.
As an editorial assistant, you will be a fashion fanatic with an inexhaustible appetite for catwalk, high street and shopping trends as well as an avid interest in the inspiring individuals who make up the fashion and beauty industries. An interest in the men’s market is also essential.
Some key skills that you need…
A fashion and/or writing background, ideally a degree in fashion journalism and relevant internships
Copywriting skills – the ability to convey a message in short snappy headlines and sells
Excellent English skills – the ability to understand and transcreate concepts, contents and tone of voice from English to Russian
Basic Photoshop skills
Ability to work on multiple projects to tight deadlines
An understanding of the ASOS core customer and their shopping motivations
Passion for digital content and an instinct for creating content with a multi-channel approach
Knowledge of/interest for CMS and digital publishing
Understanding of online content for the fashion forward twenty-something audience
Passion for the brand
