Arrival Limited - Project Finance Manager

Arrival Limited is seeking a Project Finance Manager in London to help support the delivery of pre-award and post award support for research and innovation external funding sources to the Company. This role will also support the Finance team in day-to-day processes to the business. This role may also involve travel to other local locations and factories.

Responsibilities: 

  • Grant: Support coordination and preparation of pre-award proposals including understanding key funding agencies requirements from European Commission (Horizon 2020) and Innovate UK, providing financial information to agencies and creating appropriate budgets for projects

  • Grant: Support the planning, preparation and operation for regulatory audits for grants from the European Union and Innovate UK and funding from other Government agencies as appropriate. To anticipate the criteria surrounding funding and audit compliance and to develop new procedures to ensure funding compliance.

  • Grant: Coordinate between the Grant team, the engineering and the finance team to ensure timely collection and reporting of grant costs are claimed.

  • Grant/Finance: Responsible for preparing the research and development tax credit for the Company including coordination with project leads and finance team to create a robust R&D application. Must liaise with HMRC and respond to queries as necessary.

  • Finance: Collaborate with Chief of Consolidation, external auditors and tax counsel to ensure that our accounting standards and polices are in accordance with the latest industry regulations.

  • Finance: Prepare consolidation, statutory accounts and management reports to support senior management with financial decision making. Must possess a strong knowledge of UK GAAP, UK tax, IFRS and Group Consolidation. Understanding Russian GAAP is desirable.

  • Finance: Have a hands-on attitude for the finance team as needed including review over P&L accounts, fixed asset register and working capital. Provide mentorship and coaching to junior accountants as necessary

Technical Expertise: 

  • Professional qualifications either the CIMA, ACCA or ACA

  • A 3+ year post qualified experienced professional, must have engineering/technology/manufacturing experience. Start-up experience is preferred.

  • Experienced in external funding (e.g. Innovate UK and European Commission Horizon 2020) and claim reporting process

  • Knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102 with consolidation experience. Must have experience creating UK statutory accounts. Knowledge of Russian GAAP is desirable.

  • Strong spreadsheet and data manipulation skills, time management and organizational skills

  • Experienced working with accounting software. Knowledge of Xero, Sigma Consolidation, Dear Inventory system is desirable.
