AFEX - IT Programme Manager

We can handle every aspect of a client’s foreign payment needs, from risk consultation to transaction execution.

We are currently hiring for a Programme Manager to work in our office in London in our API Department.


The IT Programme Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of client integration from inception and pre-sales technical consultation to production go-live. The IT Programme Manager is integrated within the AFEX EMEA sales processes, working with senior executives and managers across various business departments including Compliance, Risk, Credit, Operations and Trading. The manager will structure all engagements according to AFEX’s corporate project management framework, ensure that the customer has the right solution for each particular business scenario, and manage the development effort, if any, required to onboard the customer. Documenting the customer’s technology capabilities, business requirements/use cases, workflows, test plans and timeliness are some of the key outputs required for each engagement. The IT Programme Manager also plans and documents all meetings, conducts project planning sessions, and seeks the necessary sign off at each stage of the engagement. The role provides oversight and visibility to risks, and manages the end-to-end deployments to ensure smooth transition as a client goes live.


  • Provide technical expertise to sales in order to determine the prospect’s capabilities and business needs and the fit between those needs and AFEX’s solution.

  • Document project artifacts including business case, requirements/use cases, technical/business workflows, test cases and production readiness plan.

  • Provision support, training, and other documentation to ensure successful business handover.

  • Serve as an IT consultant liaising with sales to understand the best technology solution for the particular integration scenario.

  • Serve as a trusted business partner between IT and Sales, and between AFEX and our customers.

  • Provide management services over key integration projects to ensure trouble-free engagements and successful implementations.

  • Partner effectively with Sales, Product, Business Support, and other internal functions, along with IT, to solve customer issues and successfully manage project risk.

  • Travel to customer sites as needed.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to development teams to promote project success.

  • Assure AFEX IT process and standards are adhered to throughout all projects.

Required Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communications required.

  • Ability to work directly and successfully with a wide range of business stakeholders, including the executive, engineering, business support, sales, and back office.

  • Effective IT collaboration and consulting skills.

  • Strong reporting and documenting skills.

  • Business process engineering and management knowledge.

  • University degree required, with course work in project management preferred.

  • Excellent English language skills required, both written and oral.

  • Experience working with use cases, documenting business process and workflows.
