Description of the Role
We are looking for a strong Senior Account Manager who is eager to progress to Account Director. The candidate needs to be a smart self-starter who has proven agency experience in handling/juggling a number of clients and managing junior team members; a proficient client handler acting as their day to day contact; a great team player able to upwardly and downwardly manage and mentor juniors; solutions-focused and able to keep an eye on the bigger picture whilst also being across the day to day detail; a lover of to do lists, timelines and KPIs but equally comfortable brainstorming and writing slick press releases and pitches; someone with good media contacts and selling in skills; results driven - ensuring deadlines and KPIs are met.
While it’s helpful if you have experience across the marketing mix, we are keen to find someone who is a PR pro but who is hungry to learn more about integrated communications and broaden their skill set, under the guidance of some of the best senior staff in their sectors. This will see candidates supporting PR, social, content and tech teams - learning associated communications skills.
This role would extend across both 89up and 90up clients so we're looking for someone who thrives on working across a number of different projects and in an agile manner - someone happy to work on causes but equally comfortable pushing brands and products. Someone happy to work on ongoing clients; projects and new pitches. You will need to enjoy wearing multiple hats and be confident mucking in when required.
This really is a role that will allow you to explore your strengths and you will receive further training in all areas in order to support your account manager responsibilities. You will experience more exposureto senior team members (experts in a variety of fields who are on hand to offer masterclasses and mentoring), opportunities (especially within the integrated marketing mix - so you learn about other specialisms and try your hand at them), creativity and content creation (with a flat structure, everyone idea's here are valued), to clients and client management. All of these things will arguably enable you to hone your talent, while broadening your skill-set and fast tracking your career progression, in a passionate, supportive and friendly environment.
At least 4+ years experience in a client-facing role in a communications agency
Experience in project management across accounts
Experience preparing and presenting proposals
Experience in client and resource management
Experience in creating and pitching stories to press
Some experience in managing social media channels
Broad understanding of the integrated communications landscape
Knowledge of digital marketing strategies
Experience in training/mentoring and line managing a junior team
Very high standard of written and spoken English
