Google - Employee Relations and Investigations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience in advising on employee relations matters including restructuring, performance/sickness management and grievances/disciplinaries.

  • Experience with employment law principles in Ireland, UK and/or Switzerland, and one or more additional EMEA country.

  • Experience in an employee relations capacity.

  • Experience in team/people management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • CIPD qualified, or equivalent.

  • Ability to speak and write in English, and an additional European language fluently and idiomatically.

As an Employee Relations and Investigations Manager, within People Operations, you'll manage a functional team who conduct and/or advise on, in conjunction with other Global Investigations teams (where appropriate), EMEA based investigations including grievances/disciplinaries and hotline complaints. In addition, the team advise on a wide range of employee relations issues including reorganizations, sickness absence and performance management and interpret relevant Google policies and procedures. As well as managing the team, acting as a point of contact for senior People Partners, and acting as an escalation point you will manage case work as appropriate and as workload demands.

  • Manage a growing team, to ensure investigations are handled in a fair and timely manner and that appropriate recommendations are made consistent with local legal requirements and Google policy.

  • Ensure appeals/escalations as a result of investigations processes are handled in a fair and timely manner and in line with local legal requirements.

  • Ensure the team provides pragmatic advice and counsel to People Partners and People Consultants on a wide range of employee relations challenges in EMEA.

  • Support the development of employee relations capability among People Partners, Consultants and managers in EMEA through education and training.

  • Track, analyze and interpret employee relations metrics to provide insights on trends and opportunities to functional People Partners, Consultants and the business.
