On behalf of one of our clients, a company active in logistics and trading, we are looking for a

Chief Financial Officer

The Role

Based in Geneva, the CFO will encompass all aspects of day to day financial operations.

The CFO will provide both operational and programmatic support to the company, managing the finance unit and being the chief financial spokesperson for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs the preparation of all financial reports including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, monthly reporting as well as ad-hoc analytic reports on a group company responsibility on a consolidated level according to IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligation standards

  • Oversees legal, fiscal, risk, insurance and compliance matters and contributes to commercial contract negotiations in these areas

  • Acts as key contact towards statutory and group auditors in Switzerland and coordinates year-end-closing and preparation of consolidated group financial statements

  • Manages fiscal matters in all jurisdictions, aided by external advisors

  • Maintains the company-wide Management Information Systems (MIS) (SAP & SFDC) in order to support the CEO and management in their daily decision processes

  • Establishes annual budgets in collaboration with the CEO for all forecasting, controlling and liquidity management activities

  • Analyses and monitors company operations and actively suggests improvements to and in cooperation with the management team

  • Manages finance, accounting, IT, HR and admin teams of all subsidiaries

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA etc) or a Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration

  • At least 10 years’ work experience in finance of which 5 years within a similar position or as Audit or Finance Manager in a Big 4 audit company

  • Strong international experience demonstrating ability to manage local fiscal and regulatory matters in CH or CIS countries

  • Ability to set up and implement processes and standards for the Company

  • Sound knowledge of accounting standards, consolidation and liquidity management

  • Cost consciousness and capability to discover cost reduction opportunities

  • Full professional fluency in Russian and English and/or French is essential

  • Leadership qualities and the ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • A team player, self-motivated and energetic with a proven track record of success in a similar role

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal and both corporate and external presentation skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
