PwC - Part Qualified Accounting Associate

A career within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.

Our team helps our clients identify and reduce tax risks, meet compliance obligations, implement tax strategies that complement business and operational objectives, resolve disagreements with tax authorities, and manage tax accounting and reporting issues. You’ll be engaged in projects dealing with International tax, mergers and acquisitions, state and local tax accounting, regulatory processes, tax reporting and strategy.

The Role

This is a Corporate Financial Associate (non audit) and it is an opportunity to join a dynamic team in a growing department in PwC providing outsourced accounting services, such as the preparation of statutory financial statements to a broad client base across a range of industries. The role will be a combination of work in the office or on secondment, with large US multinationals, tech companies and clients in other industries. As Corporate Financial Accountant you will be part of the Corporate Accounting Service team in PwC, who are part of a wider tax group that provide clients with entity governance advice, advice on employment tax and mobility of employees. The role would suit a candidate who would like to change from the auditing environment. The role, has a great work life balance, a flexible working environment with autonomy to manage your own assignments while reporting to experienced Managers, Directors and Partners.

About PwC Corporate Accounting Services Team

The Corporate Accounting Services Team operates within the Tax services practice. Our group consists of 25 professionals drawn from a number of professional disciplines including qualified accountants and Chartered Secretaries who specialise in the provision of high quality outsourced business support and accounting services to clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of US GAAP modified account

  • Client secondments opportunities

  • Project manage special finance projects for clients / internal PwC

  • Advising client of their statutory accounting obligations

  • Researching the technical accounting elements for IFRS accounting standards.

  • Applying Company Law requirements to a set of statutory financial statements.

  • Researching the varying disclosure requirements required by accounting standards versus the company law requirements for Irish entities.

  • Preparation / review of IFRS, FRS101 and/or FRS102 statutory financial statements for Irish subsidiaries of multinational companies

  • Maintaining client relationships and liaising with clients on issues and supporting the team in particular technical areas when preparing Statutory Financial Statements.

  • General ledger posting experience

  • Liaison with external auditors at year end to ensure a smooth and efficient year end sign off for each client’s annual financial statements.

  • Customising financial information to suit client’s needs i.e. customising Sage, using clients own accounting systems (SAP), complete consolidation accounting reports.

  • Daily liaison with tax and audit colleagues on various technical accounting issues that may arise.

  • Liaison with Partner and Director on delivering a quality service to clients and business development projects.

Requirements

  • Accounting Part qualified accountant – ACA or ACCA

  • Committed and motivated team player

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong technical IFRS / Company Law knowledge is desirable

  • Outgoing, ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients

The role is normally carried out during a normal working day and rarely involves significant amounts of overtime.
