Oracle - Senior Assistant Financial Controller

Preferred Qualifications

The GCO Tax AFC reports directly to the Financial Controller, and is responsible for actively managing all accounting aspects required from GCO within the tax area including tax audits

  • Co-ordinating of accounting tax audit requirements within the GCO controller’s team while acting as a fiduciary to manage risk to the enterprise. The AFC will

  • Liaise directly with the different tax directors to discuss and clearly understand the requisitions assigned

  • Understand the impact of the deadlines and highlight potential conflict on deliverables to senior members of the team

  • Anticipate potential risks or issues before they arise and work with senior member of the team to create solutions or alternative workarounds

  • Leverage knowledge and synergies of past audits to accomplish current requests in a timely and efficient manner

  • Delegate request to GCO controller/accountant while providing clear instructions and guidance

  • Ensure GCO buy-in and support to align their resources and efforts based on the risk prioritisation

  • Continuously look for best practices and standardisation of request across EMEA

  • Liaising with internal finance teams in Dublin and those globally to obtain accounting financial and supporting data for tax audits for Oracle and acquired companies

  • Co-ordinating the collection of information required for preparation of tax provisions and Transfer Pricing Documentation within the SFS preparation

  • Tax initiative- Identify, Evaluate and Analyse ideas coming from the GCO Controllers and Tax team, which will contribute towards operational excellence and continuous improvement

  • Improve operational excellence by building partnerships with Oracle Global Finance Organisations & Global Tax Organizations

Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic background

  • Professional Accounting Qualification with minimum 3+ years post qualified relevant experience

  • Professional Tax Qualification would be preferred but it is not required

Professional background

  • Large PLC/Multinational/Big-4 audit experience and US GAAP reporting

  • Exposure to Oracle Financials and/or other ERP solutions is an advantage

Languages

  • Fluency in English essential (additional languages an advantage)

Detailed Description and Job RequirementsMaintain general accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure that proper information is reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

As a member of the finance division, you will assist in accounting functions which may include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inter-company transactions. Maintain the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, analysis, reconciliation and reporting. Maintain and implement general accounting systems. Conduct account reconciliation periodically, ledger close activities, and provide accurate financial data to support management in decision making. Develop and prepare financial reports including profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements. Review and analyze inter-company transactions. Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications. Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of internal procedures and processes. May participate in special projects.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups and management. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets is essential. Familiarity with Oracle Financials is essential. 5 years accounting experience and BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent. Some positions need you to be bilingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese.
