Hermitage Medical Clinic - Quality Administrator (Data Analysis)

The Quality Administrator (Data Analysis) will join the Quality team to provide analytic and decision-making support for quality and patient safety initiatives. The Data Analyst shall ensure that key quality data sets are assembled, maintained, and reported to internal stakeholders and external agencies in accordance with stated requirements and all legislative & compliance frameworks. The successful candidate is required to provide organization and maintenance of data, analysis, and the presentation of such data to support the implementation of key improvement initiatives & risk management activities within the hospital.

Job Background/Context

The Hermitage Medical Clinic is a private hospital providing a full range of medical and surgical care across a broad spectrum of specialities. The hospital recently received its 4th triennial accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI). The hospital is now expanding its Quality team to further develop quality improvement & risk management processes within the hospital which will enhance its ethos of continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understands & adheres to the Joint Commission International (JCI) standards and various other compliance frameworks in operation within the hospital
  • Understands & adheres to all national & international regulatory frameworks applicable to the hospital
  • Supports the Clinical Governance function within the hospital in collating, aggregating and analysing outcome data
  • Designs and maintains databases, spreadsheets, scorecards and other forms of data to support team and department needs; ensures data integrity and availability
  • Performs high level statistical analysis on data
  • Identifies useful sources of data; initiates data collection; summarizes data into usable formats for presentation and communication of results
  • Create standardised audit tools and perform analysis of audit results to identify trends
  • Safeguards, preserves, and maintains confidentiality of all patient & staff related information
  • Performs data queries, analysis, and creates reports and presentations as required
  • Designs and maintains data collection tools for hospital wide dissemination
  • Develops and coordinates systems for high quality reporting according to established timelines, including the design, preparation and distribution of reports
  • Serves as key contact for submitting data for specific regulatory reporting requirements
  • Provides data entry support as necessary to develop and/or maintain quality and patient safety databases for internal operations, organizational support, and support of teams
  • Performs literature and web searches and library investigations as directed
  • Performs other duties as requested

Essential Criteria

Knowledge/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in data analysis

Skills/ Competencies

  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to query systems, abstract data, and create meaningful reports using data queries
  • Detail oriented and work product has a very high level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet requested timelines
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels
  • Ability to understand the work environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals
  • Ability to be flexible, versatile and adaptable in day-to-day activities conducted in a multi-site environment
