The Job:

This position will be part of the Account to Report Department (A2R) within the eSSC. The eSSC is in the process of transforming its operations and increasing the scope of services it provides. The role will support the EMEA region providing a variety of accounting and finance services

The Account to Report Manager is accountable to deliver accurate and timely financial information from the point of transaction through to financial close (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for EMEA UK Nordics & Ireland portfolio. You will support accounting processes, through effective, efficient and regulatory (SOX) compliant finance processes, and support partners such as Centers of Expertise for local and US GAAP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of and provide strong leadership to the A2R Team

  • Responsible for delivery of the general accounting processes and activities of the Shared Service organisation including individual, shared service and outsourced activities

  • Deliver guidance, insight, and technical expertise as it relates to general accounting

  • Support the completion of the close process

  • Performing trial balance reviews and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Maintaining and controlling the finance ERP automatic processes to support accounting and reporting

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities

  • Supporting data integrity and preparation of financial information ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness and accessibility of financial information

  • Collaborating with the other Shared Services Center teams, Centers of Expertise and Service Delivery Partners in execution of end to end finance processes

  • Be an active advocate of the finance function

  • Participate in process improvement reviews across retained finance, captive shared service and outsourced teams

  • Actively participate in projects/initiatives to achieve continuous process improvement

  • Understand, participate, and comply with standard demand management and service management processes.

  • Support Internal management reporting, both P&L and balance sheet, on a monthly basis as required.

  • Ensure all procedures and accounting entries are fully documented, from both an audit and Sarbanes Oxley perspective.

  • Perform regular high-level analytical review to assess reasonableness and accuracy of owned a account balances.

  • Undertake other duties and ad-hoc projects as may reasonably be required

  • Perform ad hoc and special projects assignments, as required

Qualifications

Who you are

  • 10 years of relevant professional experience

  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience within a Multinational or Shared Service environment.

  • Proven Team Leader experience

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

  • Excellent IT skills.

  • Expert in key principles of US GAAP and International Accounting Standards.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education

  • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or and/or part qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent body

Additional requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required

  • Additional hours at critical times (e.g. month end) may be required. Also, the role may require Bank Holiday work, weekend work is exceptional.

  • Fluency in 2nd European language desirable
