Business Development Manager
Overall Purpose of the Role:
A role has been created to unlock revenues within ARYZTA’s target growth markets in Europe. Reporting to the Head of Business Development Europe, this role will leverage ARYZTA’s existing contacts and relationships in those markets to maximise opportunities. This requires prospecting and lead generation to contribute to the development of the sales pipeline in keeping with segment strategy. The successful candidate will focus initially on the large opportunities that exist within the retail channel. Critical to this role is the ability to identify, evaluate and select the targets and prioritize the opportunities to maximize the return for the business recognizing ARYZTA’s European capacities and production capabilities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate with wider ARYZTA network to understand and leverage contacts and relationships.
Understand capacity and capabilities of ARYZTA bakeries Europe to ensure a targeted approach.
Responsible for the development and ownership of prospecting opportunities in alignment with stated segment sales strategy.
Understand market activity and gather intelligence so to successfully target new revenues. This involves an active presence in those markets.
Work closely with NPD to ensure local market offerings are understood our proposals are appropriate.
Set up potential customer meetings and prepare proposals, coordinating with commercial finance.
Arrange bakery visits and host potential customers in the appropriate facility.
Coordinate with support functions to ensure new business is set up and managed correctly in terms of systems and demand planning.
Maintain on-going relationships with new customers to ensure continuity of business.
Support the Head of Business Development in commercial planning, customer and competitor analysis.
Detailed understanding of Retail sector with minimum 10 years sales experience
Languages are a benefit, ideally German, Polish, Russian, English
Mobile and prepared to travel given geographical spread of opportunity
Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
An excellent communicator with the ability to influence at a senior level
Commercially aware with solid business development and financial management skills
Confident, ambitious and energetic with a persuasive manner and the ability to use initiative
Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative
