Our European office in Berlin is in search of an

Event Operations Manager

This is a full-time position and reports directly to the Director of Operations at SEMI Berlin office.

What you will do:

  • Manage and maintain all logistical aspects of all European exhibitions and events (conferences, workshops);

  • Draft and maintain event production timeline and monitor all critical interfaces to other departments such as Business Development, Sales and Marketing;

  • Negotiate contracts with Exhibition and Event Centers and the relevant contractors;

  • Define, select and manage (including price negotiations) the necessary main contractors or subcontractors like decoration, signage, commercials, hotels, catering, A/V, registration, side events, and others;

  • Coordinate with SEMI HQ staff to ensure global expo operations standards and best practices;

  • Manage the planning and allocation of conference & meeting room allocations for all the SEMI programs and events, SEMI meetings and SEMI customer meetings;

  • Maintain records of show expenditures against budgeted figures. Ensure that show projects are within budget. Follow up with recovery of outstanding payments;

  • Supervising/producing/maintaining booth space packages (Pavilions concepts, Application/Contracts, Payment Information, etc.)

  • Assign booth space, manage floorplans and special exhibit areas;

  • Tactful handling stakeholder requests and questions;

  • Manage event invoice processes and ensure payment follow up.

What we expect:

  • Excellent English and German language (both oral and written) communication skills. Additional languages (e.g. French, Russian) are a plus;

  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in working in an exhibition, conference, and/or event environment;

  • Strong Experience in dealing with exhibitors/attendees, managing contractors, media, sponsors etc;

  • Excellent IT-knowledge, especially Office, CMS, floorplanning and event registration systems;

  • Experience in the semiconductor and/or related high-tech industries is of advantage;

  • Structured, proactive, team-oriented and independent with a results-driven approach to work;

  • Personality that challenges the status quo brings in high enthusiasm.
