Description

  • Smart Drilling develops and manufactures Rotary Steerable Systems for directional drilling.On a worldwide basis, represents the company while servicing equipment and supervising the erection, start-up, field inspections and troubleshooting of the RSS fleet internally and with customers worldwide.

  • The Field Support Engineer must be proficient with the entirety of the downhole tool and should know it from mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components.

As a Field Support Engineer, you will be required to have an engineering and troubleshooting centred mindset with a hands-on mentality. While performing your job the aspect of HSE will be always top priority no matter where or with who you operate.

  • As you will likely be in direct contact with our customers it is necessary that you not only know your technical toolbox but also behave and conduct in a customer friendly manner internally as well as externally.

  • You will be required to work with a wide range of people ranging from management level to engineers and rig crews ensuring everybody has a keen understanding of what he is required to do, not to do and what potential HSE hazards the trainee must be aware of.

  • You have to be able to lift equipment and walk or stand for a certain amount of time.

  • You should not be afraid of heights.

  • Prior Rig experience is a plus but not necessarily required.

This work includes:

  • Working abroad on remote locations for the required time

  • Working with multinational teams

  • Training multinational operators on safe and proper handling of downhole tools

  • Supporting the engineering and technical department with information as required

  • Operating software and hardware

  • Hands on trouble shooting and problem-solving skills

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates (female or male) with the following qualifications:

  • Completed studies in engineering (bachelor degree essential; master degree desirable)

  • Experiance in oil and gas operations and working on rigs and oilfield installations

  • Prior directional drilling, MWD or logging experience

  • Experience with downhole tools and rig operation

  • Working knowledge of MS-Office programs (MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Project)

  • Technicak English skills (fluent)

  • Secondary language desirable (Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabic,...)
