Milengo GmbH is one of Europe’s leading language service providers, offering translation and localization services to clients in over 70 countries. We currently have about 80 employees working at our headquarters, which are located in the heart of Berlin, Germany.
We are in the process of expanding our Machine Translation Department, and are searching for candidates who are passionate about further developing their professional skills in this innovative sector.
We are currently seeking a full-time Machine Translation Manager Trainee to start immediately.
Machine Translation Manager Trainee
As a Machine Translation Manager Trainee, you will gain a valuable insight into a cutting-edge sector that is undergoing rapid development. This means that you will learn first-hand about fascinating topics like neural machine translation and artificial intelligence.
You are the ideal candidate for this traineeship if you are interested in a career in linguistics, IT, or computer linguistics, but have had little or no professional experience in this field so far.
Alongside maintaining existing machine translation engines, your tasks will include developing and implementing new solutions, communicating with other departments, and undertaking preparation and follow-up work for machine translation projects.
You will help us to expand our department, create new workflows, and implement machine translation-related ideas. You will also work with bilingual corpora, and will be involved in preparing and evaluating data.
Over the course of this year-long traineeship, we will help you to build up your professional expertise and gain confidence in flexibly finding solutions to machine translation-related issues.
The experience you will gain at Milengo will be indispensable to your future career, especially if you are planning to work in machine translation management, project management or translation management.
This traineeship is designed to lead into a permanent Machine Translation Manager position.
Your tasks by the end of the traineeship:
Deploying machine translation solutions for our accounts
Sharing your newly gained knowledge of machine translation with our team members
Documenting machine translation workflows
Scheduling retraining sessions for commonly used machine translation systems at regular intervals
Post-project analysis of machine translation usability
Coordinating linguistic evaluations of machine translations
Engineering tasks for machine translation projects, where necessary
Tracking post-editing projects of machine translations
Preparing data for machine translation
Presenting machine translation-related workflows, data, and solutions at internal and external meetings
Participating in machine translation-related meetings
Strong command of written and spoken English
Tech-savvy, with an interest in IT-related areas such as programming
Very good communication skills
Efficient task management
A team player with a goal-oriented personality and good organizational skills
Self-motivated, analytical, and pragmatic approach to work

Please note that this is a full-time position in which you will be expected to work about 40 hours per week, and that you will receive a salary of approx. €1,599 gross per month.
This traineeship lasts one year and is designed to lead to a permanent position at our company.
