Description of the job

A vacancy for a Air Dominance Sales Manager (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen. The successful applicant will join “Defence Solutions”.

Within Airbus Defence & Space, the « Intelligence » business cluster delivers services and solutions to always push further Intelligence capacities and accurate decision making.

Tasks & accountabilities

  • Build and maintain a confident relationship with the customer and related alliances when appropriate

  • Manage and develop the business in order to optimize order Intake and margin by customer over the whole life of Airbus products, services & solutions

  • Lead sales campaign

  • Represent Airbus interest in relevant bodies, and lead for Public Affairs when appropriate

  • Provide accurate forecasts of Airbus business within the account

  • Develop a thorough and intimate knowledge of the assigned customer accounts by establishing regular contacts, developing confident relationships throughout the customer organization and identifying the key factors in the customer’s decision making process

  • Apply segment (industry sector, geographical...) strategies to the account plan

  • Provide insights to marketing plans

  • Foster customer loyalty

  • Lead and manage the campaign team including capture plan, commercial offer preparation, negotiate and develop offer ensuring best financial result

  • Lead account planning and reviews with all relevant stakeholders, including forecasting

  • Lead and communicate the account strategy Lead, in coordination with relevant stakeholders and lobbying plan, public relations and communication operations linked to specific sales campaigns

  • Supervise fulfilment of contractual commitments from and towards Airbus, including payments, when appropriate

Required skills

  • Master degree in Sciences and Technology – Engineer title

  • External or on the job trainings performed in the area of Programme Management, Sales and Marketing

  • Long-time experience in a High Technology company

  • Including at least 5 years in Defence and Aerospace sector in particular for Air Forces customers

  • Negotiation level of German and English

  • Third language (Spanish, Arabic, Russian) appreciated
